Guidelines

Provides you with
  1. The necessary protection throughout your period of journey whether you are on a business trip or holiday.
General Claims Guidelines
  1. Notify MSIG immediately as soon as you have returned from abroad in respect of any event that may give rise to a claim.
  2. Then submit the Claim Form together with the following documents:
    1. Tour Operator’s Confirmation of Booking Invoice
    2. Copies of Airline tickets
  3. Complete the relevant sections of the Claim Form relating to your claim.
  4. The following documents are also needed for:
    1. Section 1 Personal Accident
      1. Certified Copy of Death Certificate
      2. Certified Copy of Post Mortem Report
      3. Certified Copy of Deceased’s Identity Card
      4. Letter of Administration, if no nomination
      5. Medical Report from Regular and Attending Physician
      6. Certified Copy of Police Report (if death due to motor vehicular accident)
      7. Proof of relationship between the Insured Person and the child(ren) – for claim on Child Education Fund
    2. Section 2 Medical and Other Expenses
      1. Medical Certificate from regular physician, if necessary
      2. Medical Report from attending physician / Nature of Illness or injury
      3. Original Medical Invoices and receipts
      4. Invoices on accommodation, communication & travelling expenses (for claim on Compassionate Care & Child Care)
      5. Recommendation letter from the attending doctor (for claim on Compassionate Care)
      6. Invoices relating to cost of burial, cremation or conveyance of body to home.
      7. Name and address of usual doctor in Malaysia, if necessary
    3. Section 3 Personal Luggage and Personal Effects
      1. Detailed breakdown of claimed items
      2. Purchase receipts, warranty card etc, for baggage and/or personal effects, if any
      3. Property Irregularity Report from airline
      4. Police report in the event of theft
      5. Photographs depicting damages to the baggage etc, if no report lodged to Airlines
      6. Proof of compensation received from the responsible party
    4. Section 4 Luggage Delay
      1. Report from airline confirming the number of hours delay or misdirection in delivery
    5. Section 5 Personal Money
      1. Police report at the place of occurrence
    6. Section 6 Travel Documents
      1. Police report at the place of occurrence
      2. Original receipts for additional accommodation, travel and communication expenses incurred in replacing lost travel documents
      3. Copy of Emergency Certificate
    7. Section 7 Cancellation
      1. Documents to support the reason(s) for cancellation
      2. Original receipts for payment of the insurance cover and any pre-booked and pre-paid tour expenses
      3. Cancellation invoice from the tour operator concerned and refund obtained from them, if any
    8. Section 8 Curtailment
      1. Documents to support the reason(s) for curtailment
      2. Original receipts for payment of the insurance cover and any pre-booked and pre-paid tour expenses
      3. Cancellation invoice from the tour operator concerned and refund obtained from them
      4. This Policy will only pay for any claim either under Section 7 or Section 8 but not both
    9. Section 9 Travel Delay (including reschedule of flight)
      1. A written confirmation from the airlines concerned confirming the duration of delay and reason(s) thereof
    10. Section 10 Missed Travel Connection
      1. A written confirmation from the airlines concerned confirming the duration of delay and reason(s) thereof
    11. Section 11 Travel Overbooked
      1. A written confirmation from the airlines concerned confirming overbooked incident
    12. Section 12 Missed Departure
      1. Documents to support the reason(s) for missed departure
      2. Original receipts for additional accommodation and travel expenses incurred
    13. Section 13 Travel Reroute
      1. A written confirmation from the airlines concerned confirming the incident (actual arrival time vs schedule arrival time)
      2. This policy will only pay for one claim made either under Section 9 or 10 or 11 or 12 or 13 but not all
    14. Section 14 Loss of Travel Deposit
      1. Documents to support the reason(s) for the claim on travel deposit
      2. Original receipts as proof of payment made to travel agents
    15. Section 15 Additional Cost of Rental Car Return
      1. Rental Agreement
      2. Receipt for payment made on additional cost of rental car
      3. Confirmation letter or receipt confirming the actual date returned of the rental car
      4. Medical report and bills stated the medical condition and duration of hospitalization
    16. Section 16 Personal Liability
      1. Correspondence from Third Party unanswered
    17. Section 17 Loss of Use of Hotel Facilities
      1. Confirmation letter from the hotel or handling agents starting the duration and reason for finding the alternative accommodation
      2. Invoice and receipts as proof of the payment for alternative accommodation incurred
    18. Section 18 Home Protection
      1. Police Report on the incident
    19. Section 19 Adventurous Activity Cover

Claims Guidelines for Personal Liability Claim
  1. Notify MSIG immediately after the third party has made a claim from you.
  2. Do not admit liability, negotiate or repudiate any claim with the third party without MSIG’s consent.
  3. Provide MSIG with details of the third party wherever appropriate.
  4. Forward all relevant documents unanswered to MSIG as soon as you have received them from the third party for our immediate attention.
